Blue cheese bread

Blue Cheese Bread

Piece description from the artist

To me, this painting screams “QUARANTINE!” During lockdown, my family and I baked and watched a lot of TV. Our favorite show was the Great British Baking Show – I am sure many of you can relate! This bread made an appearance on the show (the experts will recognize it from the GBBO Masterclass series), and we made it so often because it was so delicious that eventually, I had to paint it.

To give my painting a french twist (and not a British one!) I used a beautiful blue tablecloth that, to me, really represents warmth and family dinners. I painted the words to look like chalk on a blackboard, like the signs you see outside Parisian bistros. And finally, I featured my favorite house accessory: the planche a pain, an essential for any true French family!
