Des Moines displays its patriotic colors
Gary has been photographing for over 50 years, predominantly Iowa landscapes, cityscapes and nature. He began with film and moved to digital photography, enhancing his skills through photo workshops and seminars. Gary enjoys capturing uncommon views of common subjects at Iowa state and county parks and urban areas. He was most influenced to explore photography by his Dad, a photographer for the US Navy during World War 2. Gary's award winning photography has appeared in several exhibits including Octagon Art Center, Ankeny Art Center, Des Moines Public Library, Jester Park Nature Center and Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge. He also did the photography for the Iowa State Capitol Visitor Guide and 2 comparative historical books on the Iowa State Capitol and the Terrace Hill governor's mansion. Gary currently resides in Madrid Iowa.
