Piece description from the artist
One of a series of paintings I recently did about Bangor Maine. Something quite incredible about that Northern Latitude light. Bangor's population has decreased drastically, but it once had a burgeoning economy early in the last century. The architecture is absolutely magnificent, but decades of decay have allowed many of these buildings to either sit vacant or be turned into apartment/boarding houses.

His paintings are vibrant, playful and unconventional, often featuring bright, saturated color and imaginative subject matter. Ben received both his B.A. and M.F.A. in painting and drawing from George Washington University and still lives in D.C., where he teaches painting and drawing at Georgetown University and George Mason University.
