This piece reminded me of one of my favorite painters' Richard Diebenkorn. It is one in my series of paintings where I use a Speedball roller to apply paint to cover up an old painting I feel is less than successful. I enjoy the abstract expressionist marks from the old painting peeking through the flat areas of paint.
Abstract art is part of my spiritual journey, my form of meditation. My best paintings come when I lose myself in the process. The journey is equally as important as the finished product, sometimes more so.
