Piece description from the artist
This is a modified image of one of my paintings. I wanted to play with the colors to make the image darker, more somber and less real. I think the violet and purple colors of his version add more magic to it and make it somehow more quiet and fantastic.
Ricardo Maldonado loves painting and experimenting with color. He preferes natural outdoor subjects, as the light and colors change often with the seasons and the time of the day. Those changes, subtle or abrupt, are always challenging him. For Ricardo, painting is a passion and a discipline. Painting taught him to see things in a different way, observing every detail more carefully and more consciously, and ultimately appreciating more deeply all that surrounds him.
Ricardo's paintings are often very colorful and create a very lively atmosphere for the viewer. Sometimes strong and colorful contrasts enhance the difference between light and shadows and brings up beautiful effects not seen often.
