Piece description from the artist
I made this image at the Angeles National Forest north of Los Angeles while working on a different body of work, and came back to it in this other "wet ink printing" series and like it better this way. The color is added digitally and the print is made so that some areas of the print stay wet and I manipulate it. It's not an easy process to control and I actually flipped this one differently than I meant to, but it's one of those great accidents that worked out. This one still stands out from the rest of the series because of it.
Brandon was raised in rural Northeast Texas where his closest exposure to art was the graffiti on the trains passing by behind his house. He took a scholarship to go to TCU in Fort Worth, TX, where he chose to pursue a BFA in Studio Art after a semester abroad in London. He then received a fellowship to get his MFA in Photography at Savannah College of Art and Design. His thesis show was titled, "Arranging for the Fore, Separating Four and 4", and used photography to explore the way cultures create symbols in search of truth in the world, using different aspects of it to help guide our existence. After SCAD Brandon lived in New York for several years as an artist assistant and photography instructor. He now resides in Los Angeles and continues exploring new techniques in photography and drawing and taking part in various exhibitions.
