Artichoke Black and White Still Life 1

Piece description from the artist

The globe artichoke is a variety of a species of thistle cultivated as a food. The edible portion of the plant consists of the flower buds before the flowers come into bloom. What a strange looking edible flower with its geometric triangle shapes and out this world looks. But what a fascinating subject for a still life in the studio of fine art photographer Edward M. Fielding.

About Edward Fielding

Grantham, NH

Artist, designer, and fine art photographer, Edward M. Fielding works in the Upper Valley region of the Connecticut River Valley area of New Hampshire and Vermont. The rural country side provides inspiration to his landscapes of natural beauty and the simple life on family farms.

In his work you can often find old trucks, heirloom barns and workhorse vintage tractors as well as glimpses of coastal areas from Florida, California, Prince Edward Island and Maine. As a constant traveler, Fielding also brings us views from as far away as Montana where his in-laws live in Bozeman, the American Southwest, his birthplace — Hawaii, California and European photographs of Italy and France.
