Piece description from the artist
Atalaya was built near the Atlantic Ocean in northeastern South Carolina, within present day Huntington Beach State Park. The location was chosen as a milder winter retreat for the health of Anna Huntington, who suffered from tuberculosis from the mid-twenties to the mid-thirties. This angle from the ocean side of the compound was taken on a hot July late morning day. Building thunderstorms were just a few hours away, so I needed to use the best available light to capture this historic site.
