Unique skies were originally the reason I began to take photographs. Growing up in rural Montana, the sky was always doing something unique. Each summer, the sky turns from colorful and peaceful to taciturn and stormy from day to day. A heavy fog began to lift this summer morning, and the sky softened into a light gray, with green tones in the atmosphere. It was a rare occurrence, and the air felt full of energy. The clouds rose up into big waves, then were gone in a matter of seconds.
Annie was born and raised in Montana, growing up on her family's ranch in the beautiful Smith River Valley. Growing up in Montana's wild and beautiful Landscape led to her deep love of nature and all things rural. Annie attended the Art Institute of Colorado and lived in Denver Colorado until the completion of her Interior Design degree in 2002. After working in that field for several years, Annie moved back to Montana and began her own business, focusing on her ever-growing love of photography. She began traveling the backroads and wilderness of Montana and the Rocky Mountain region and selling her photos professionally in galleries, shops, and online. She primarily searches for rural Landscapes, old barns, abandoned farmhouses, and occasionally wildlife she encounters. Her work as been featured in HGTV, Better Homes and Gardens, and featured in three books on emerging artists of the United States. She currently lives in Billings, Montana, and takes several trips during the year to gather new images.
