Piece description from the artist
A beautiful fine art photo of Alley Roller Mill and Spring in Eminence Missouri during the autumn / fall season. The Mill and Spring are part of the National Park Service. The mill building was built in 1894 by George Washington McCaskill as a merchant mill and was equiped with modern machinery that utilized steel rollers for grinding. It was larger then most mills in the Jacks Fort area and replaced an earlier grist mill on this same site that was built in 1868. The natural spring provides constant average daily flow of 81 million gallons a day making this an ideal place for the mill. An exterior water wheel powered the mill.
