Piece description from the artist
This particular tulip bed was filled with a variety of tulips. The form of this particular tulip caught my eye, the way the petals bended in seemingly perfect form. I wanted to show just a hint of the variety of tulips surrounding this magenta tulip, so I framed it with that in mind. The viewer can see a complementing white and pink tulip, as well as tulips in peach and salmon pink. My hope is that the viewer will first notice and appreciate the form of the magenta tulip, and then enjoy the colorful display of the background tulips without feeling overwhelmed by details.
