Big Shoulders is about people not being able to exist, succeed, progress and live without one another. We all need each other to move through life; this painting is a reminder we stand on each others shoulders to live. We all have "big shoulders" as we carry one another.
Glenyse Thompson is a Florida-based visual artist whose work spans contemporary, original art and design. Inspired by people and conversations, her artwork combines vibrant use of colors and textures, conveying the exuberant connections, we have with each other and our environments.
Her recent work includes a capsule wallpaper collaboration, A-Street Prints x Glenyse Thompson Wall
Mural Collection: the artwork used to create the capsule was featured in the Fall 2021 issue of The
Textile Eye. Her artwork is included in Town and Country Magazine, for Cheryl Umbles “The Welcome
Space”. As part of the Obsidian Experience — Black Artists and Designers Guild she was seen in Elle
Decoration UK, Metropolis Magazine, California Design and Home, Houzz, Hunker, Design Milk and
Aspire Home and Design. She was commissioned for cover art for Designers Today magazine and has
been interviewed for Martha Stewart. Glenyse has appeared as a featured artist for Arts Plus, a
nationally syndicated television program on the WEDU/PBS network.
Internationally collected, prior exhibition history includes Show Me The Signs #sayhername-Blum &
