Bill's career started as a corespondent at the Concord Monitor as a writer being paid 25 cents for a inch of words but five dollars for a photo. Quickly found the interaction between subjects and making photos was a calling. Moving to Dallas Texas in the 1980's he worked for the Associated Press as a freelancer and was a photo printer. During that time he covered the Dallas Cowboys , Mavericks, Texas Rangers , 1984 RNC. In 1985 he was hired by the Boston Herald and his photo career excelled.
In 2002 he left the Herald to become a paramedic and served with New Bedford Emergency Medical Service to 2013.
