Bioluminescence at Ellen Brown Memorial Pier La Jolla, California

Piece description from the artist

This was taken during the bioluminescence at Scripps Pier, La Jolla. This is one of the best nature displays I have witnessed as a photographer. Researchers and scientists still study the magical causes of the bioluminescence and how it creates this blue color. At times it is also red in color. There were at least 50 photographers lined up to capture this so I felt fortunate to find a spot that was clear for a shot.
