Piece description from the artist
This is one of the painting in the series Birch Trees. These trees are always beautiful regardless of the place were they grow or the environment they are in. Through the seasons of the year the birch trees always create the contrast between their white birch and the multiple background colors where they are. With this series, I intent to demonstrate just that, the beauty of those trees no matter what colors surround and envolve them.
Ricardo Maldonado loves painting and experimenting with color. He preferes natural outdoor subjects, as the light and colors change often with the seasons and the time of the day. Those changes, subtle or abrupt, are always challenging him. For Ricardo, painting is a passion and a discipline. Painting taught him to see things in a different way, observing every detail more carefully and more consciously, and ultimately appreciating more deeply all that surrounds him.
Ricardo's paintings are often very colorful and create a very lively atmosphere for the viewer. Sometimes strong and colorful contrasts enhance the difference between light and shadows and brings up beautiful effects not seen often.
