Piece description from the artist
"Blue Curaçao" features a captivating horizon line that divides the composition. The upper portion is filled with warm hues of peach and orange, evoking the tranquil moments of sunrise or sunset. Below, rich blues and purples dominate, mirroring a reflective body of water. The textured, layered brushstrokes blend these colors seamlessly, creating a harmonious and serene visual experience. The overall effect is both contemplative and peaceful, inviting the viewer to pause and reflect.
Victoria Primicias’ paintings are visual meditations: tranquil, yet flowing with energy and depth.
Primicias has worked professionally as an artist for the past 30 years. She began her career as a graphic designer and is now a full-time fine artist.
She received a bachelor of fine arts degree from the University of Toronto, and a graphic design degree from George Brown College. Her paintings can be found in both private and public collections including Oregon Health and Science University, Salt Lake City International Airport, and the NH Hampton Circuit Court.
When she worked as a graphic designer, she relied on color and spatial elements to create her signature style: quiet yet full of tension and energy. In fine art, she infuses her graphic sensibilities to capture the same visual excitement onto canvas.
Primicias was born in Manila, immigrated to Toronto at 15, then moved to Chicago for work. Warmer weather and friends beckoned her to the Raleigh, NC area in 2009, which she now calls home.
