Winter morning at San Diego Harbor. San Diego, CA, USA.
We do not have to travel to the forests, deserts, or mountains to find beauty. We do not always have to be in solitude or surrounded by silence to find peace. In cityscapes or urban scenes there is often the wonderful intersection of nature and the industrial aspect of daily life. A beautiful cloud-filled sunrise enhances and beautifies the architectural design it is illuminating for our benefit. The calm water of a harbor morning seems to infuse the seemingly inanimate boats and buildings with life and beauty. Even the sound of busy streets full of people and automobiles is still the same sound and energy that maintains the entire universe.

Joseph wants to approach his photography from a place of simplicity and avoid making this enjoyable and creative process overburdened from a technical standpoint. He still continues working to improve his craft all the while though. His photographs are presented in a straightforward way and engage the creative process to produce photographs of familiar subjects in an impressionistic and abstract manner. His simple hope is that his photographic work promotes an interest in art and that it expresses joy and beauty.
