Boulevard Palm is a palm silhouette over an abstract background painting. I drew and cut out plant shapes to make the palm.
The slightly twisted look made me think of palm trees planted along a street (a tough environment for plants) weathered and a little battered, but still beautiful.
Cynthia Fletcher is a painter, working in oil, acrylic, and digital media. Her style is abstract with jewel-tone color, texture, layering, and symbolism. Nature is her chief inspiration, and her work focuses on experiences there, using abstraction to go beyond form to capture and communicate light, color, and sensation.
Fletcher is also a Landscape Architect who has lived and worked in a variety of environments from Chicago to the rainforest of Panama. Her lakeside studio is located in Oklahoma City.
