Inspired by the dahlias gracing my desk, I decided to focus on these incredibly interesting flowers. Their muted colors, delicately pointed and irregular petals were not only a thing of beauty, but spoke of an intelligent design. It is not necessary to travel the world in search of beauty and truth. It is all around us. So close in fact that it is easily missed.

Christina Angarola Hsu is a Southern California native who comes from multiple generations of artists. She received her first camera at the age of 12; from then until now, photography has been not only a means of expression but a means of exploration, a gateway into new worlds and ways of thinking. Though she began her career as a commercial photographer in Los Angeles, Christina now exclusively concentrates on her fine art, finding poetic moments in daily life and in nature. Her subject matter often dictates the process she chooses—from traditional film, digital, vintage and lensless cameras to handmade limited edition photo books. Christina’s work has been collected and exhibited throughout the United States and abroad.
