Piece description from the artist
The glittering towers of Chicago sparkle in the cold black Chicago River, not far from the shopping and museum mecca around Michigan Avenue. Chicago's downtown area is known as "The Loop." The nickname refers to the area encircled by the elevated (‘L') train tracks.
Keith Dotson is passionate about black and white photography. While some have called his work thought provoking, his goal is to make photographs that provoke emotions, seeking to capture the essence of a subject as much as it's appearance.
Dotson’s work has been shown in art galleries in New York, Los Angeles, Austin, Minneapolis, Wisconsin, Toronto, Nashville, and Knoxville.
His photographs have appeared in major national television commercials, and TV programs such as "Grey's Anatomy" and "Melissa and Joey".
Dotson has taught art and design on the adjunct faculty at Austin Community College in Austin, Texas and Texas State Technical College in Waco, Texas. He currently resides in the Nashville area, where he finds beauty in all four seasons.
