Piece description from the artist
Circus is an extension of my previous work “Breathe”. I just fell in love with this concept of balancing bigger objects on smaller one and wanted to explore it a bit more, that’s how circus was developed.
Everything is balancing on that peach block and then being lightly held together by that thread that goes across. It’s like a whole story in this little composition.
I went for bold colours, used orange for the first time. It was daunting at first to get the shade right, but I feel it just lifts up the whole piece and makes it more fun, just like a regular circus.
This palette was different but fun to work with. Bolder and fun.
Originally a fashion design graduate from NIFT, Delhi, today, Radhika Choudhary is a geometric artist. Her original formal design training has helped her to shape her individual design language which now translates into her art.
Her art explores my thoughts, emotions, and experiences acting as a window into her life. Using acrylic on canvas, her work is minimal, bright, clean, and involves a fun play of different geometric shapes aligned together to form a cohesive pattern. The balance & interplay of different elements evoke a sense of harmony & joy. Striking yet pleasant in nature, each artwork conveys her emotions and aims to awe the beholder with the magic of colors and shapes.
