I began this painting with a different approach to see what would develop. That different approach was to focus on the corners of the painting and work my way towards the center. I found this to be a very rewarding process where my attention kept rotating through the corners in a rhythmic dance of form and color
Don’s work is a crossover between pure abstraction and references to the natural world. Color and texture are key elements in his work. His effort is to play with chaos and create balance through layers of transparent color and hue.
