This old barn has tons of charm. Even though it is weathered and worn, it is still a safe haven for the sheep and horses of the farm it stands on. Barns were once a staple of country life, and most often were built by hand by the men and women who lived in the area. Barn-raising was a community event, and a new one in the area was a source of pride for those involved in building it from the ground up. This one is a testament to the skill of those builders, as it has stood the test of time and continues to do so despite the harsh conditions in the Rocky Mountain region.
Annie was born and raised in Montana, growing up on her family's ranch in the beautiful Smith River Valley. Growing up in Montana's wild and beautiful Landscape led to her deep love of nature and all things rural. Annie attended the Art Institute of Colorado and lived in Denver Colorado until the completion of her Interior Design degree in 2002. After working in that field for several years, Annie moved back to Montana and began her own business, focusing on her ever-growing love of photography. She began traveling the backroads and wilderness of Montana and the Rocky Mountain region and selling her photos professionally in galleries, shops, and online. She primarily searches for rural Landscapes, old barns, abandoned farmhouses, and occasionally wildlife she encounters. Her work as been featured in HGTV, Better Homes and Gardens, and featured in three books on emerging artists of the United States. She currently lives in Billings, Montana, and takes several trips during the year to gather new images.
