Covered Bridge in Madison County, Iowa

Piece description from the artist

For those of us that saw The Bridges of Madison County, we were drawn into the romance of a different time and simpler life. Visiting these bridges is like stepping back in time: the thick solid wood with hundreds of scuff marks that draw your imagination into considering what traveled across this bridge and left their mark. This particular evening was quiet, no other visitors, not a soul in sight. It was easy to get lost in imagining what this bridge has seen over its decades of existence. My goal in this scene was for the viewer to feel transported to this bridge, to the stillness of the surrounding countryside, with nothing but the quiet flow of the river underneath.
