All my paintings are simply the process of one mark leading to another and in the final stages a theme starts to come to mind. This piece had me think of my early appreciation of Cubism and the growth in modern painting that evolved from that period.
Don’s work is a crossover between pure abstraction and references to the natural world. Color and texture are key elements in his work. His effort is to play with chaos and create balance through layers of transparent color and hue.
