Piece description from the artist
Dakota Skipper is a piece dedicated to the little butterfly on the verge of extinction. It is a painting about the prairie and the fragile elements that make it so special. The landscape is from a ranch in central North Dakota. One that I worked on and learned to love very much. The Prairie Rose is the North Dakota state flower and the Purple Cone Flower is the Dakota Skippers favorite flower. Both are symbols of the prairie.
