Piece description from the artist
The quiet stillness of the early blue hour blankets the Ronald Kirk Pedestrian Bridge, offering a serene view of the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge and the Dallas, Texas skyline. The natural purple hues of the clear pre-dawn sky elegantly accentuate the bridge’s twisted cable-stayed design, a modern masterpiece that towers gracefully over the Trinity River below. Some gold colors are just starting to highlight the horizon. Opened in March 2012 as part of the ambitious Trinity River Project, the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge serves as a striking connection between downtown Dallas via Highway 366 (Woodall Rodgers Freeway) and Singleton Boulevard in West Dallas. The peaceful scene, devoid of the usual hustle and bustle, highlights the architectural beauty of the bridge against the backdrop of a slumbering US city.
