Piece description from the artist
Daybreak in the Lowcountry" original painting was painted with loose brush work and impasto palette knife strokes. Lovely yellow, pinks, and oranges bounce against the clouds as the sunrise begins and reflects over the over and beach. Light is reflected in the tidal pool on Sullivan's island.
April is heavily influenced by the classical impressionists but strives to bring about elements of expressionism as well into her paintings. She uses color fearlessly and is always striving to "capture the light". April wants her paintings to invoke the feelings of her subjects and especially the wild feelings of being out of doors surrounded by the beauty of nature.
