Piece description from the artist
Here I used paint and graphite to depict the transition of West Coast to East Coast living and the extreme weather that often overwhelms the experience.
Try Serino's work confronts the fundamentally opposing ideas of experience and metaphor. Conceptual relationships between color and value influence her work.
Try works with a variety of materials, including gesso, acrylic mediums, charcoal, and photographs. Adding layers of pigment to build up the image, she attempts to illustrate the sometimes-darker beauty hidden in each work.
