Piece description from the artist
Xiqu Centre opened in January 2019 and is a world-class performance venue that respectfully embraces the cultural richness of Chinese opera in Hong Kong.
“Qi” (meaning flow) is expressed throughout the complex with curvilinear paths and forms and arched entrances designed around a mesmerizing, multi-level circular atrium: this shot represents a detail of the atrium's ceiling.
Sergio Capuzzimati is an Italian architect and photographer based in Hong Kong.
His architecture background strongly influenced his photography work: through his lenses, he is constantly exploring the infinite scenarios that a city like Hong Kong is able to offer, digging out its soul and its archetypal elements with the use of bold colors and double exposure.
