This photograph was taken November 2010 in downtown Detroit, Michigan. It shows a woman walking past the iconic Joe Louis Memorial statue. The monument is a 24-foot long arm and fist held in balanced suspension from a pyramidal support of bronze poles.
Sarah A. Miller is a photographer living in the Pacific Northwest. She works as a photojournalist in Boise, Idaho. Previously she held newspaper positions in Texas, Utah, Michigan and Ohio. She is a graduate of Central Michigan University. She loves the outdoors, especially mountains, rivers and deserts.
