Piece description from the artist
Digital Dahlia
The Digital Dahlia originated as a photo taken during a neighborhood walk in Eugene, Oregon in the summer of 2021. During the digital editing process, there was a glitch in the neural network, an artificial intelligence hiccup that resulted in a teal square overlapping the flower. This happy accident provides a stimulating contrast between the linear square and curving, spiky dahlia petals.

For tannagx, digital art in the form of multimedia photography is an exploration of imaging technology. Artistically, her creative process utilizes digital photography processed with artificial intelligence and neural network applications to abstract images, augment texture, and infuse color. Vivid beauty, surprising patterns, and incredible detail can be found in these designs ranging through abstract micro-landscapes, botanicals, and Northwestern imagery.
