Translucent Petals is a new series, showing the simplicity of a limited palette. It also shows the beauty of the flowing paint giving a very organic feel to the painting. Using the limited palette without a lot of color and achieving a simple yet interesting flower painting was my goal. Much of the decor today is in neutrals giving off a very calm and peaceful feeling and this series works well in these environments. I love color but these pieces show that less can be more.
Karen is an artist for over 35 years. Prior to painting full-time – the artist worked in many creative fields in the design world. Living on the beach in CT, her work is influenced by the changing atmosphere and nature. She studied impressionism for 8 years. Her work is collected internationally and has been represented by many galleries throughout her career.
