Dense plant life in the dunes near my home take on a hyperreal quality through the use of vivid colours. This creates the idea of an imagined landscape merging with a real place.
Elizabeth is based in New Zealand, right near the beach. Being close to such a beautiful landscape provides the inspiration for her work, as she feels a strong connection to her local environment.
Elizabeth is interested in capturing the essence of a place through colour and brushstroke. Her artworks often use vivid colour palettes to capture the feelings experienced while being in nature.
Her painting style is constantly evolving. One of the consistent features is a fascination with colour and light and she works with a variety of different mediums to balance out the two, including gouache, watercolour, acrylic, oil paint and pastels.
