Piece description from the artist
Chicago is rich in history. You just have to dig a little bit.
In the distance are remnants of the Edgewater Hotel Resort.
Where I was at to take this photo would have been under water. The apartment building and its sister hotel building were a resort with the beach and lake right at its doorstep, before the lake was "pushed back" for the construction of Lake Shore Drive.
Built in the late 1920s, Edgewater Beach Apartments was part of the Edgewater Beach Hotel, a north-side fancy resort frequented by celebs and notable figures.
