Elements of Being Grounded

Piece description from the artist

This work was included in John Osgood's "Layers" duo exhibition at Voss Gallery in San Francisco (August 2021).

"Within an image, painting, or sculpture there can be multiple layers and levels. I believe that also applies to how people live, how thoughts are developed, and how things can be communicated. Through the use of texture, shape, color and line, I build paintings by continuous layering. I am seeking the right combination to find the composition that speaks to me. The repetition of adding to a painting, and living life, I find a lot of truths inside of the paintings and myself. This painting reminds me of being close to the ground, that being grounded and truthful to oneself is a part of a whole."–John Osgood
