It was at the end of Summer as I looked at the reflections on the surface of my swimming pool during a sunset, I was struck by this image of floating petals from my fragrant Plumeria tree. To me the summer is heralded by the scents from several different blooming trees and shrubs, towards the end of summer the petals begin to fall from their branches and stems.
Raised in Zimbabwe and transplanted to the United States as a teenager, Roger has learned to straddle different worlds and cultures. His unique artistic style reflects his diverse background and myriad cultural influences.
As I turn around and prepare to leave the party, my paintings are celebrations of the last things I’ve observed.
