Evening At Bathhouse Row Painterly

Piece description from the artist

An evening along the historic Bathhouse Row in Hot Springs, Arkansas, United States. This is a photo I took and later turned into a watercolor painting creating a beautiful mixed media piece. Bathhouse Row is a collection of bathhouses in historic buildings. They are located in Hot Springs National Park. The bathhouses were included in 1832 with the National Park when the government took over four parcels of land in order to preserve 47 natural hot springs, their mineral waters which lack the sulfur odor of most hot springs, and their area of origin on the lower portion of Hot Springs Mountain. Some of the bathhouses sit directly over hot springs. The bathhouses uses the spring water in their spas. In 1987, Bathhouse Row was designated a National Historic Landmark.
