Piece description from the artist
The Canal Saint Martin in Paris, an iconic and Romantic spot. Shot during Summer 2013 with an Infrared film and a Holga mounted with an infrared filter. (analog 120 Toy camera).
Jean-Baptiste Saint-Pol grew up in France and studied photography and audio postproduction at the University of Valenciennes. Since 2009, his photographic work has involved the use of toy cameras and a variety of experimental analogue photography techniques. He loves obtaining saturated and abstract images without any post-production. He has collaborated with artists Satomi Sugiyama (USA), Stephan Knaps (Germany), Carolina Perdigoto (Portugal), Wei Lie Jie (Singapore), Catherine Olsowy (France), amongst others, in film swaps. An active member of the Lomographic Society International, he has been a tester for prototype cameras and is considered a "lomoguru" by his colleagues. Today, Jean-Baptiste is based in New York, where he keeps shooting and developing his art.
