Piece description from the artist
A biome can be defined as ”a major community on earth with a predominant vegetation and adapted organisms to that particular environment.” It is the place where biodiversity and resilience are made and engineered (by nature).
This is a biological community that is dominated by trees and other woody vegetation. More than one half of tropical forests have already been destroyed. Only scattered remnants of original temperate forests remain. Current extensive logging in boreal forests may soon cause their disappearance. There are three major types of forests; tropical rainforest, temperate forest and boreal forest (taiga).
The artwork has been designed with the golden ratio in mind and has the Pantone® colours Azure Blue, Burnt Sienna, Forest Biome, Jet Black and Sunlight.
The dynamics and diversity of the forest and the city inspire me to reflect on good public governance and stewardship of society and nature. Educated as a forest ecologist and social psychologist at Wageningen University, I was able to serve society as a (city) manager and strategist, as well as nature conservation steward to protect and preserve their precious values. I fel in love with graphic design and colour management. I try to turn my impressions into expressions.
