The raw beauty of this white horse inspired to paint this piece. As this painting developed, I focused on capturing the powerful yet gentle essence of this magnificent, sentient being. I also concentrated on conveying the state and stance of curiosity and awareness that this horse seemed to exude.
To begin this painting, I first drew the shape of the horse. Then I applied Acrylic molding paste to establish and exaggerate the horse's form to add texture. From there I applied layers of contrasting colors with mini rollers and paintbrushes to establish subtle layers of colors.
The natural world and her love for animals inspire Dara Daniel's Acrylic on canvas, mixed-media paintings. She combines bold colors and shapes and lots of textures to create fun, playful interpretations of horses and other animal spirits.
For all her paintings, she combines all the available elements of design to express rhythms and energy and moods and emotion. Dara explains, "Each painting experience is unique yet, my goal for all my paintings is to capture a degree of nature's passionate spirit, joy, and beauty."
