You know those sunrises and sunsets that stop you in your tracks? As a landscape photographer my favorite hours are dusk and dawn. Sometimes when you set your alarm for the early morning wake up call you don't know if the colors in the sky are going to be worth it or not. This was one of those early mornings when the universe rewarded me for chasing the light.
Birch Thomas, a tenth generation Arlington native, has spent the past three years capturing the city with her distinctive eye. Birch is a self-taught photographer based in Washington, DC and her love for the local landscape is deeply rooted. Her favorite season has always been the change of season which is evident in her work. Living in a city that provides the rich colors and elements of all four seasons provides an ever-changing backdrop to her captures that sparks her relentless passion. Her goal is to create photographs that move you, evoke emotion, and lights your own spark within you to find your passion which transcends far beyond the lens.
