Waterfalls on the Potomac river near Washington DC after sunset as the setting sun illuminates the clouds over Great Falls. This was taken from the river edge with a relatively slow shutter and with the focus on the rocks forming the waterfall. This allows the surging water to blur as it roars towards the viewer
Steve Heap has been a photographer for over 50 years now (which is frightening to think about!) but in that time he has developed an eye for what would make a striking piece of wall art. Photography is all about the light and his finest attribute is patience! Waiting for the conditions to be just right is the key to making a piece of art that you can be proud of. Of course, luck plays a part, but without that patience of being in the right place at the right time, it just becomes a snapshot.
