It's often been said in the "art world" that there's nothing new under the sun, implying that anything you do has been done before. For this reason I can't seem to make myself create art for the sake of art. Nature is the way around this feeling. Has anyone ever painted this particular bend of a canyon in the middle of the desert? It's comforting and exciting to be quite certain that no one has! Also, whenever I paint somewhere I've been I get to return to that place whenever I look at my work.
Brian DeYoung grew up outside Chicago, Illinois area and relocated to Savannah, Georgia in 2008. He graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a B.F.A. in illustration.
Illustration has been his passion for a very long time, particularly using traditional media to create his work, along with using his images to create a story. Brian's work is poignant, animated, technically impressive, and often humorous.
