Piece description from the artist
I was inspired to create this photography as I had long known of this very unusual palm tree located on Sunset Beach in Oahu. It had grown towards the ocean and in doing so, had formed a very straight horizontal line for many, many feet, before finally making a gradual arc upwards towards the sky. Visitors were gathering near this tree to be photographed beside it. The tree looks so picturesque with the crashing waves behind it, and particularly at sunset when the clouds turn pink and gray. This piece feels soothing to me, and provides a mood of growth and healing. To the viewer, it can mean that not all things in life are predictable, and that the unusual formations are often the most desired. To be unique is admirable.
