This piece deals with the reality of poverty here in the United States particularly among immigrants coming to seek a better life. It is a call to action to help those in need and respond just as Jesus tells us in the Gospel "Whatsoever you did to the least of these my brethren, you did unto Me."
Bay Area artist Jaime Longa's work has examined many subjects throughout the years ranging from narrative trompe l'oeil still life paintings to evocative urban landscapes. He explores concepts that challenge viewers, enabling them to delve deeper into the subjects being portrayed. A graduate of Academy of Art University with a BFA and MFA in Painting, Longa's current work touches upon the many facets of urban life. His paintings contain multiple layers and textures that provide emotional, cultural, and spiritual depth.
