Piece description from the artist
A single white jet trail streams across the blue skies over the isolated Western landscape of Montana, near the Canadian border. This immense area, with wide open fields, hills, and skies, make a human feel very small. The scale of the space is hard to grasp, as the fields and skies stretch out into the horizon farther than the eye can see. The wild grasses sway and the only sounds are the occasional wind gust. They are lonely and isolated areas, but are truly unique in this overcrowded world.
Annie was born and raised in Montana, growing up on her family's ranch in the beautiful Smith River Valley. Growing up in Montana's wild and beautiful Landscape led to her deep love of nature and all things rural. Annie attended the Art Institute of Colorado and lived in Denver Colorado until the completion of her Interior Design degree in 2002. After working in that field for several years, Annie moved back to Montana and began her own business, focusing on her ever-growing love of photography. She began traveling the backroads and wilderness of Montana and the Rocky Mountain region and selling her photos professionally in galleries, shops, and online. She primarily searches for rural Landscapes, old barns, abandoned farmhouses, and occasionally wildlife she encounters. Her work as been featured in HGTV, Better Homes and Gardens, and featured in three books on emerging artists of the United States. She currently lives in Billings, Montana, and takes several trips during the year to gather new images.
