Piece description from the artist
Captured this old abandoned building being over taken by the desert. The painting on the side of building of “Judge Roy’s General Store” caught my eye. The sign has Langtry Stone painted on it so guessing that may have been a onetime local realtor. Langtry is located out in far west Texas and was home of the famous Judge “Law West of Pecos” Roy Bean.
Charles “Dennis” McKelroy’s interest in photography started soon after graduation from High School. Dennis has taken several courses in photography to advance his knowledge in the art; first with film, and recently with digital.
His interest has mostly been nature, wildlife, scenic, and still life. He has traveled extensively around Texas as well as other parts of the United States, Mexico, and other countries. Having been raised in southeast Texas along the Gulf coast many of his images have been captured locally. West Texas also holds a special interest to him. The Texas hill country, desert and areas around the Big Bend, Alpine, and the Davis Mountains high plains are subjects you'll find among his collections. Dennis looks for original subjects that have not been previously captured; going to out of the way places in search of the everyday scenes that are usually overlooked.
Dennis’ equipment is mostly Canon professional camera bodies and lenses. All of his photos are of original subjects edited to as near as possible as what Dennis saw at the time of capture.
Thank you for your interest. I’m honored you took the time to look through the collections and hope that you will find an image to fulfill your need.
C. Dennis McKelroy
