Digital restoration of a historical lithograph that depicts the city of Washington from a low-angle bird's-eye perspective. The lithograph was created by E Sachse and Co. in 1852 and shows the Capitol building in the foreground, surrounded by other prominent landmarks and buildings. The view is oriented toward the west and northwest, capturing the urban development and landscape of the nation's capital in the late nineteenth century.
Steve Heap has been a photographer for over 50 years now (which is frightening to think about!) but in that time he has developed an eye for what would make a striking piece of wall art. Photography is all about the light and his finest attribute is patience! Waiting for the conditions to be just right is the key to making a piece of art that you can be proud of. Of course, luck plays a part, but without that patience of being in the right place at the right time, it just becomes a snapshot.
