Piece description from the artist
These small barns were the staple of farm life a few short decades ago. Used for so many purposes, they were a necessity of rural life. They stored hay and kept it dry, sheltered the animals from storms, and provided a place to keep family items that wouldn't fit inside the tiny farmhouses of the day. The barns of a farm were often built by the locals, hand built from the ground up using local lumber. To this day, their long-lasting craftsmanship is evidence of the great skill that was used to build them. This one stands in the foothills of the Big Belt Mountains in central Montana.
